Where is the Creative Gathering Point in Times of Crisis?
MEETING POINT is a two-year European collaboration project, co-financed by the European Union and Creative Europe—the EU’s support program for the cultural and creative sectors. This project serves as an exchange program for musicians, performing artists, dancers, and visual artists from across the EU and Ukraine. It aims to empower artists through masterclasses, residencies, and collaborative performances that address pressing issues such as the war in Ukraine while promoting social inclusion.
The project outlines leadership strategies, partner roles, target audiences, and methods for ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality, risk management, and sustainability—with a particular focus on environmental sustainability and diversity.
The idea behind MEETING POINT stems from the urgent need to address the impact of crises—such as wars, economic downturns, political upheavals, and natural disasters—on the cultural sector. The project seeks to support artists from across the EU and Ukraine, providing them with a platform for artistic exchange, learning, and collaboration. This initiative is not only about fostering resilience among artists facing these challenges but also about encouraging dialogue, reflection, and social inclusion through the arts.
Goals of MEETING POINT
Strengthening a new generation of performing artists through masterclasses, residencies, and collaborative performances.
Addressing critical social issues, such as the war in Ukraine.
Promoting social inclusion and diversity.
In 2025, the project includes four artist residencies with project partners in Denmark, Greece, and Poland, as well as an artist residency and tour for Swinging Europe’s selected musicians.
The project aims to encourage dialogue and reflection on current issues, increase audience engagement, and ensure environmental sustainability and diversity within the cultural sector.
