The pilot project Jazz on Genvisit realizes and a musical cultural meeting between toddlers, professional jazz musicians and pedagogy students from VIA Pedagogy in Ikast and Horsens. A number of well-known Danish jazz musicians are sent, divided into groups of 2, into daycare centers, nurseries and kindergartens, to collaborate with the children to create new and unique musical results through the reintroduction of jazz music. The project is led to family concerts for 0-6 year old children The Central Jutland Region in June 2019.
The Jazz on Genvisit consists of a series of coherent activities, consisting of a training course for the educator students, activities in the day-care institutions, an artist-in-residence program for the musicians, workshops, and a touring orchestra, who plays concerts with the produced music after the end of the course – all targeted toddler families throughout the Central Jutland: For preparing children for the meeting – and helping children along the way – are made and work with educational programs at VIA University College. The students are given the task, domestic musicians will be visited, at visiting daily institutions or institutions, for in telling the children about jazz, musicians and showing them and some good jazz activities, I form of dance and legs, which children and educators themselves can use for periods of time to visit. The selected musicians are artists in the home for six days and live the same and selected place in the region.
The big three days of visiting children in day care were put together in works and workers together to arrange and joint family concert, which they will play as a unified orchestra, which is the best of all musicians. Family concerts should be a party company where all musicians play together. The last day of the stay at home plays the orchestra for concerts in Ikast-Brande and Horsens on June 22, 2019, after which the orchestra rallies again and returns on a concert tour later in the year to find free concerts in all interested municipalities.
